Unionfab, reported to be China’s largest Additive Manufacturing service provider, headquartered in Shanghai, has expanded its metal Additive Manufacturing capabilities with the goal of supporting customers in the USA, Canada and Germany.

Unionfab uses an AI-driven manufacturing platform to reduce low-volume metal part production from around 30 days to as fast as five days. The company now has an installed base of over 100 metal Additive Manufacturing machines, including Binder Jetting and Laser Beam Powder Bed Fusion (PBF-LB) machines.

Unionfab processes a range of metals, including stainless steel, aluminium alloys, titanium alloys, CuCrZr and nickel-based superalloys. The company also offers its proprietary Al901X aluminium alloy, which combines heat resistance, mechanical strength and anodising compatibility for end-use applications.

“Over the past few years, China’s metal 3D printing industry has undergone rapid technological iteration and industrial maturation. Continuous innovation among equipment manufacturers, material supply chains and manufacturing service providers is driving rapid improvements in printing efficiency, process stability and overall manufacturing costs,” stated Allen Yang, Unionfab CEO. “We believe now is an important time for global manufacturers to reassess how they develop and produce complex metal parts.”

Unionfab operates six smart factories and, including its wide range of polymer systems, operates more than 1,000 AM machines in total. Beyond Additive Manufacturing, the company provides a range of services, including CNC machining, injection moulding, sheet metal fabrication and rapid casting, supporting projects from prototype development through to production.
