IperionX to begin titanium production on a commercial scale in 2024

In a recent letter to shareholders, IperionX’s Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director, Anastasios Arima, highlighted the company’s intentions for 2024, with plans to launch its titanium production on a commercial scale and “disrupt the global titanium supply chain with low-cost, sustainable and high-performance titanium products.”
The company’s core titanium refining and processing technologies, Hydrogen Assisted Metallothermic Reduction (HAMR) and Hydrogen Sintering & Phase Transformation (HSPT), were first patented by Dr Z Zak Fang in 2016 and 2011 respectively. IperionX is now moving this technology to a commercial scale, and will commission its large-scale industrial furnace in the first half of 2024.

IperionX also plans to commission an advanced titanium manufacturing facility in the first half of 2024. This will be used to demonstrate the company’s ability to manufacture a variety of low-cost and high-performance titanium products using Powder Metallurgy, HSPT forging, and Additive Manufacturing techniques.
Regarding the company’s Titan Critical Minerals project, IperionX will focus on developing strategic partnerships in 2024, reinforcing its commitment to a sustainable and integrated US titanium supply chain from minerals to metal products.
“We will continue to build upon our existing partnerships and forge new ones, showcasing our innovative titanium solutions. We aim to continue our success with working closely with the US Government to deliver a low-cost, sustainable, US titanium industry,” added Arima.
