Innospace, headquartered in Sejong, South Korea, reports that it is supplying Hyundai Motor Group with the company’s integrated Additive Manufacturing control solution, INNO AM-X. The contract demonstrates the application of Innospace’s AM process management technology – developed for space launch vehicle engines and core components – to the automotive industry.

Innospace’s INNO AM-X integrates and manages equipment status, process conditions, and quality data generated throughout the metal Additive Manufacturing process into a single control system. It collects and visualises data generated during the manufacturing process in real time, enabling the systematic accumulation and management of data previously scattered across equipment and tasks. This enhances visibility within the manufacturing process and supports data-driven decision-making.

The automotive industry demands both quality consistency and process reliability, making systematic tracking and management of the entire manufacturing process essential. This contract has significantly recognised Innospace’s capabilities in process stability, quality tracking, and data-driven AM control.

Innospace added that it plans to move beyond its existing business structure, currently focused on space launch vehicle components, and fully deploy a new revenue model centred on systems and solutions based on its proprietary AM technology. In particular, the company is targeting high-reliability manufacturing industries such as automotive, defence, and energy, which require aerospace-level quality management systems.

“The Additive Manufacturing control solution we have accumulated during the development of space launch vehicles is not a simple internal process management tool, but a competitive leading technology that can be applied to various industries that require the manufacturing of high-precision and high-reliability products,” stated Innospace CEO Kim Soo-jong.

“Starting with this supply to Hyundai Motor Group, we will expand across industries and expand our position as a company with differentiated technological capabilities not only in the space transportation field but also in the Additive Manufacturing field,” he added.
