Formnext 2015, the international exhibition and conference on additive technologies and tool-making, Frankfurt, November 17-20, 2015, has launched the “formnext start-up challenge.” This competition is aimed at young, innovative companies in Additive Manufacturing and is being organised by formnext in cooperation with EIT Digital.

Prizes will be awarded to start-ups who impress the jury with an innovative and viable business idea and have a product ready to market. To enter the competition, a start-up must be incorporated in the European Union and not older than five years.

Together with EIT Digital, formnext will award the five winners a booth in the start-up area of formnext 2015, including booth construction and paid travel and hotel expenses. The winners will also have the opportunity to be integrated into the EIT Digital Startup Community of 130 network partners and, thus, benefit from consulting with business development and communication experts as well as contacts to potential investors and customers throughout Europe.

“With this competition, formnext is offering start-ups an innovative exhibition platform to pitch their product idea and company to highly qualified industry professionals from around the world,” stated Sascha Wenzler, Division Manager for formnext at the exhibition organizer Mesago Messe Frankfurt GmbH. “Moreover, in EIT Digital we have a partner that gives start-ups prospects for success in the long term and numerous contacts throughout Europe.”

The five winners will be selected by an international jury consisting of analysts and representatives of companies, research institutes, and universities. The jury will evaluate the overall business concept of the start-ups, amongst other criteria. These include, for example, consideration of what makes the product special and valuable, as well as the team, marketing strategy, and financial planning.

Start-ups can submit their application by email to: [email protected]. Please ensure that you completely fill out the application forms,
