3D Spark GmbH, Hamburg, Germany, has achieved ISO/IEC 27001:2022 certification, demonstrating compliance with the international standard for information security management systems (ISMS). The certification, valid until 2029, was undertaken by Proks Certification.

The ISO/IEC 27001:2022 certification is intended to support customers using the company’s software-as-a-service (SaaS) platform for manufacturing, procurement and supply chain management. The platform enables companies to convert 2D drawings into 3D models, compare manufacturing technologies, estimate costs, lead times and CO₂ emissions, evaluate suppliers, and assess make-or-buy options for components.

As manufacturers increasingly adopt digital tools for engineering, sourcing and production planning, information security has become an important consideration, particularly where platforms manage part files, supplier data, cost analyses and manufacturing strategies.

“Enterprise customers need more than strong software functionality. They need confidence that their data, processes and operations are protected,” stated Dr-Ing Fritz Lange, co-founder and co-CEO of 3D Spark. “ISO/IEC 27001 certification is an important milestone for 3D Spark and supports our mission to help industrial companies make secure, data-driven manufacturing and procurement decisions.”

According to the company, the certification confirms that 3D Spark has implemented an independently certified information security management system covering risk management, security policies, access controls, employee training, technical safeguards and continuous improvement processes.

3D Spark offers a range of deployment options, including on-premises, private cloud and public cloud environments. For customers using its public cloud platform, the company states that services are hosted on infrastructure provided by Hetzner, a European cloud and data centre provider. Hetzner has also achieved BSI C5 Type 2 certification for its products and services.
