Wayland Additive, located in Huddersfield, UK, has announced that Ti6Al4V Grade 5 titanium processed on its Calibur3, using NeuBeam technology, has officially met and exceeded international Additive Manufacturing performance standards. This widely utilised titanium alloy is well-known for its excellent strength-to-weight ratio, biocompatibility, and corrosion resistance. As a result, it plays a crucial role in industries such as aerospace, defence, power generation, and oil and gas.

Independent verification (UKAS ref 0046) confirms the mechanical properties of NeuBeam-processed Ti6Al4V. The results included a hardness average of 345 Hv10, 99.98% density, and superior yield strengths – 972 MPa in horizontal orientation and 907 MPa in vertical – far exceeding the ASTM B348-13 standard of 759 MPa.
