Norsk Titanium, headquartered in Hønefoss, Norway, has shared that following a successful development with its partners at Safran Landing Systems, the company has now completed Phase 1 of its qualification programme. Production representative units have reportedly been additively manufactured, advancing the path toward qualification.

With the parts currently undergoing destructive testing and production cost targets confirmed, the Safran and Norsk Titanium teams are preparing for the next phase.

In April 2026, Norsk Titanium received the 2026 Supplier Innovation Award from Safran. Norsk Titanium has collaborated with Safran Landing Systems for several years to advance the use of its Rapid Plasma Deposition (RPD) technology in landing gear applications. According to the company, the work demonstrates the potential of Additive Manufacturing to produce critical aerospace structures.
