Kanfit Ltd offers Additive Manufacturing of aluminium parts via Kanfit3D

October 27, 2020

Kanfit Ltd, Nof Hagalil, Israel, is to offer the Additive Manufacturing of aluminium parts through its sister company Kanfit3D, Nof Hagalil, Israel, with the addition of an SLM® 280 Laser Beam Powder Bed Fusion (PBF-LB) AM machine from SLM Solutions, Lübeck, Germany. Kanfit3D specialises in AM for the medical and aerospace sectors.

The SLM 280 machine enables the medium- to high-volume production of aluminium parts and prototypes and was installed remotely in a joint effort between Kanfit3D’s technical team and SLM Solutions via telephone video conferencing, due to the travel restrictions imposed by the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. It joins Kanfit3D’s EOS M290 PBF-LB AM machine from EOS GmbH, Krailling, Germany, which is used for producing Ti64G5 parts.

“Our new SLM system has a state-of-the-art high-power laser system that reduces the cost per part, while advanced sensors and additional systems ensure best in class processing conditions to deliver highly consistent, top performance Additive Manufacturing parts,” stated Zachy Shtamler, COO of Kanfit3D. “Our advanced capabilities will allow us to shorten delivery times for products from one month, for example, to five days.”

Shachar Fine, Kanfit’s EVP of Business Development, Marketing and Sales, commented, “We are very excited about the new opportunities that this new system opens up for us. Being able to offer AM aluminium manufacturing is another example of how Kanfit pioneers new technological processes to benefit our customers.”
