Innovative 3D begins relocation, expands Renishaw fleet to 25

Innovative 3D Manufacturing has begun installing five new Renishaw RenAM 500Q Laser Beam Powder Bed Fusion (PBF-LB) Additive Manufacturing machines at its recently constructed metal AM facility in Franklin, Indiana, USA. Alongside the new Renishaw machines, the company has also installed two new post-processing machines from Addiblast.
The 2,800 m² facility, completed approximately ten months after ground-breaking, marks a significant expansion of the company’s metal AM production capacity.
Once the new machines are installed, Innovative 3D will begin moving the remainder of its shop floor operations. This includes its fleet of twenty Renishaw machines that produce parts seven days a week, 365 days per year, at a rate of over 15,000 parts per month.
The additional equipment is expected to be brought online over the next four to six weeks, with the company aiming for no production downtime during the move.
