3D Lab sp zoo, based in Warsaw, Poland, is showcasing its ATO Suite for metal powder manufacturing and processing at this year’s Formnext. Featuring the ATO Lab Plus, ATO Noble, ATO Induction Melting System, ATO Sieve, ATO Cast, ATO Wipe and ATO Clean, the fully integrated and modular suite is designed to give researchers and manufacturers complete control over metal powder production workflow.

The ATO Suite is said to incorporate a compact, easy-to-use and modular design, making it suitable for even the most space-constrained environments. It enables the production of spherical, high-quality metal powders, ideal for Additive Manufacturing and other advanced applications, from any alloy and feedstock with control over the powder characteristics.

Systems premiered at Formnext include:

  • ATO Wipe: The ATO Wipe is a compact ultrasonic wire cleaning system, combining ultrasonic cleaning technology with a set of brushes to effectively clean wire or rod. The operator can select the desired cleaned wire length or weight and ATO Wipe will clean the feedstock to enhance the quality and purity of atomised metal powders with the ATO series ultrasonic metal atomisers.
  • Revolver rod feeding system: Enhanced metal powder production with multiple rods in a revolver cylinder, supports up to ten 120 mm rods (the same sizes as the rods cast in the ATO Cast vacuum casting furnace). Users can make their own metal powders with high output applications and precise control of both rod rotation and feed speed.
  • ATO Remote Control: The ATO Remote Control system enables precise real-time control of the ATO series ultrasonic metal atomiser. The system is designated to increase powder output efficiency and minimise the need for operator intervention during the atomisation process.
