Core Lab for Additive Manufacturing opened in Mexico

Tecnológico de Monterrey, located in Monterrey, Nuevo León, Mexico, has opened its Core Lab for Additive Manufacturing, a key and strategic component of the Institute of Advanced Materials for Sustainable Manufacturing (IAMSM) located at the Parque de Investigación e Innovación Tecnológica (PIIT).

The Core Lab offers state-of-the-art equipment to support and advance research and technology transfer in the fields of Additive Manufacturing and Industry 4.0. Its main objectives are to foster innovation, facilitate the creation of technology-based companies, and enhance the supply chain in northeastern Mexico.

In collaboration with GE Additive, the laboratory will provide industry solutions to enhance productivity and performance, while reducing development and validation times. It will also be used for training in advanced Additive Manufacturing techniques.

The opening ceremony was led by José Alfredo Pérez, General Director of the Nuevo León Institute of Innovation and Technology Transfer. He was accompanied by Mario Adrian Flores, Vice President of Campus Monterrey Region and Vice President North Region of Tecnológico de Monterrey; Guillermo Torre, Rector of TecSalud and Vice President of Research Support Areas of Tecnológico de Monterrey; and Gabriel Arreola, Site Operations Manager & Government Relations at GE Aerospace.
