3D Systems opens new Industrial Technology Center to expand AM capacity

3D Systems Corporation, based in Rock Hill, South Carolina, has announced the opening of its new Industrial Technology Center in Littleton, Colorado.
The addition of approximately 4650 m² of manufacturing and office space aims to increase the 3D Systems’ advanced manufacturing capacity to approximately 25,000 m² across Europe and US. According to the company, the expanded facility in Colorado will strengthen domestic manufacturing capacity, enhance supply chain resilience, and supports growing demand for qualified US-based production.
The expansion also aims to expand the company’s ability to help aerospace, defence, and semiconductor equipment manufacturers accelerate the development, qualification, and production of mission-critical components using Additive Manufacturing.

“The opening of the Industrial Technology Center not only expands our industrial manufacturing capabilities but also creates additional opportunities for the continued growth of our healthcare manufacturing operations,” stated Dr Jeffrey Graves, President and CEO of 3D Systems Corporation. “This investment reinforces our commitment to advanced manufacturing in the United States while creating new opportunities for engineers, technicians, and manufacturing professionals in Colorado.”
3D Systems Corporation’s Littleton campus will serve as a hub for customers seeking to accelerate adoption of Additive Manufacturing. Upon completion of planned investments, 3D Systems seeks to offer a comprehensive domestic metal Additive Manufacturing ecosystem.
The planned operations will encompass metal AM machine development in California of the multi-phase US Air Force sponsored program; large-format printer manufacturing in South Carolina and application development, qualification, and certified parts production in Colorado.

“With validated facilities, certified quality systems, advanced applications expertise, and scalable production capacity already in place, we are uniquely positioned to help customers move from concept to qualified production faster and with less risk,” said Dr Graves. “Our goal is simple: help customers innovate more quickly while strengthening the resilience of critical American manufacturing supply chains.”
The Littleton facility maintains ISO 9001 and AS9100D certification, ITAR and JCP registrations, and CMMC Level 2 compliance, supporting production for regulated aerospace and defence applications.
