Impact Innovations to supply cold spray AM machine to Tinker Air Force Base

Impact Innovations GmbH, headquartered in Rattenkirchen, Germany, has been selected by the US Department of Defense to supply a high-pressure Cold Spray machine to Tinker Air Force Base in Oklahoma, USA.
Impact’s EvoCSII high-pressure Cold Spray Additive Manufacturing machine will be delivered as part of a turnkey installation expected to be commissioned in 2027.

The Impact EvoCSII machine was chosen as it is reportedly the only Cold Spray AM machine in the market capable of producing alloyed aluminum coatings without the need to introduce a second phase into the coating.
The acquisition of an Impact EvoCSII will allow the government to utilise the Cold Spray Additive Manufacturing process for repairs that involve hundreds of parts annually.

“We are proud to support Tinker AFB with our high-pressure cold spray system contributing to future combat readiness,” says Leonhard Holzgassner, co-CEO and Technical Director at Impact Innovations “and will continue to support US armed forces and the defence industry in creating the manufacturing technology base of the future.”
