Volkmann integrates powder management with HP Metal Jet S100
Volkmann GmbH, based in Soest, Germany, has announced a collaboration with HP Additive Manufacturing Solutions to integrate a contained metal powder management system with the HP Metal Jet S100 series of Binder Jetting (BJT) Additive Manufacturing machines.
Through the collaboration, the HP Metal Jet S100 line can be equipped with Volkmann’s proprietary powder handling solution designed specifically for HP’s BJT technology. The powder management system is designed to provide users with a semi-automated option for part cleaning, powder recovery and powder refilling, complementing HP’s existing fully automated solution.
The contained powder management system integrates Volkmann’s PowTReX Basic unit for powder sieving, recovery and transfer with the company’s vacuum conveying technology. The system also incorporates a glovebox and docking interface designed to seal and contain the HP build unit during powder handling operations.

The new vPort system is available through Volkmann in the USA, Canada and Europe.
