Velo3D joins GIDEP to support defence manufacturing
Velo3D, Fremont, California, USA, has joined the Government-Industry Data Exchange Program (GIDEP), an information-sharing programme for the US government and industry. The company stated that participation will support its quality, reliability and supply chain risk management processes for defence manufacturing.
GIDEP provides participating organisations with access to technical, quality, reliability and supply chain information intended to help identify potential issues and reduce risk in products supporting government and defence programmes.
“Trust and reliability are essential when producing parts for mission-critical defence applications,” stated Arun Jeldi, CEO of Velo3D. “GIDEP gives Velo3D access to critical information shared across government and industry, complementing the quality and risk-management processes that support our defence manufacturing activities.”
Velo3D supports US defence efforts through its Sapphire metal Additive Manufacturing machines and Rapid Production Solutions (RPS), which provide production capabilities for complex metal components. The company stated that GIDEP membership will provide an additional source of information for its defence manufacturing activities.
