ULO Optics, Stevenage, UK, has announced the appointment of Stuart McCulloch as the company’s new Business Development Manager. McCulloch will oversee the expansion of ULO’s products into the 1µm, fibre laser compatible arena.

McCulloch joins ULO with over 9 years’ experience in the fibre laser and Additive Manufacturing fields. Most recently, he held a position at fibre laser manufacturer SPI Lasers, Southampton, UK, working across both the company’s Product Management and Business Development units. Prior to this, he spent a number of years working for laser integrator Thinklaser.

ULO stated that it has experienced much success in providing CO2 optics since its founding in 1982 and now hopes to lead the drive to make sophisticated beam delivery equipment much more affordable for the 1µm market for fibre lasers, with the key aim of avoiding any compromise in quality.

John Barton, Managing Director for ULO, stated: “For over 30 years, ULO have been known for their expertise in CO2 optics and have manufactured many specialised optics for use with fibre lasers. Stuart’s appointment will expand our skill base, ensuring we are structured to offer the highest standards of customer service, which is particularly important as we continue the drive to maximise production of our full range of standard and customised 1µm products.”
