Tridiam, based in Porvoo, Finland, has acquired its first M1 Wire Arc Additive Manufacturing (WAAM) machine from MX3D, headquartered in Amsterdam, the Netherlands.

Operating as a dedicated on-demand manufacturing centre, Tridiam intends to use the M1 and MX3D’s MetalXL software to supply medium-to-large metal components to clients across Northern Europe.

“We want to extend our warmest congratulations to the Tridiam team on acquiring this high-end WAAM machine,” stated Gijs van der Velden, CEO of MX3D. “Tridiam’s focus on solving complex industrial challenges using WAAM makes them a fantastic pioneer for our technology in Finland. We are proud to supply the M1 system that will power their new facility, and we look forward to seeing the high-quality parts they will produce.”

Jari-Antero Sivula, CEO of Tridiam, added, “This investment marks a major leap for Tridiam in strengthening the sustainable development and security of supply in the Nordic metal industry – especially here in Finland. By enabling the production of large-scale metal components through Additive Manufacturing, we will significantly shorten delivery times and cut material waste, bringing a new level of efficiency and resilience to the entire value chain.”

The M1 is expected to be fully operational at Tridiam’s facility by May 1, 2026.
