Taiyo Nippon Sanso Corporation (TNSC), Tokyo-based global provider of welding solutions and industrial gases, has announced the opening of an ‘Additive Manufacturing Advanced Room’ at its Yamanashi Laboratory, which will be used as an R&D base for metal Additive Manufacturing technology.

The new AM Advanced Room houses technology including Velo3D Sapphire® AM machines, which use Laser Beam Powder Bed Fusion (PBF-LB) technology; LENS® machines by Optomec, Directed Energy Deposition (DED) technology; and 3DPro® products, TNSC’s proprietary gas technology.

TNSC explains that it has focused on AM as one of the core fields of Industry 4.0 as Additive Manufacturing adoption has increased throughout the global manufacturing industry. It expects the development of AM technology to help contribute to a sustainable society through supply chain innovation.
