Tekna Holding ASA, headquartered in Sherbrooke, Quebec, Canada, has appointed Egil Haugsdal as Chair of its Board of Directors following an extraordinary general meeting held on October 1, 2026.

Haugsdal succeeds Dag Teigland, who was recently appointed Chief Executive Officer of global metals and materials producer Elkem ASA. Teigland will remain a member of Tekna’s board.

Haugsdal has held senior management positions in international maritime, aerospace, and defence industries. His previous roles at Kongsberg Group include President of Kongsberg Protech Systems and President of Kongsberg Maritime from 2016 to 2023. He has also served as Chair or board member of a number of listed Norwegian and international companies.

Sinter-based Additive Manufacturing: Beyond the hype, towards industrial success

Tekna stated that Haugsdal is independent of the company’s executive management, material business relations and major shareholders.

“Tekna has built a strong position in advanced materials, serving customers in some of the world’s most demanding industries. I look forward to working with the board and management to build on that foundation and support the company’s continued international growth,” said Haugsdal.

Tekna credited Teigland with contributing to the development of its strategy and international growth plans. The board thanked him for his contribution and said the company would continue to benefit from his experience as a board member.

The extraordinary general meeting also adopted all other resolutions proposed by the board and set out in the meeting notice.
