Switzerland’s Schmelzmetall acquired by AMPCO Metal
Schmelzmetall Group, Gurtnellen, Switzerland, has been acquired by AMPCO Metal, a copper alloy manufacturer based in Marly, Switzerland.
Schmelzmetall offers a range of metal powders suitable for Additive Manufacturing and Metal Injection Molding under its HOVADUR brand. The acquisition will see Schmelzmetall add AMPCO’s copper-based alloys to its own copper-based alloy portfolio.
In combining a wider international presence with its regional base, the company anticipates faster service, tailored support, and expanded access to its full product range worldwide. Through the integration of technical resources, Schmelzmetall will also be able to expand its production capabilities to include various casting technologies.
