Submission deadline nears for conference on emerging applications of PM & AM materials and technologies

January 23, 2023

The deadline for abstract submission for the ‘International Conference on Emerging Applications of PM & AM Materials and Technologies,’ organised by Fraunhofer IFAM, Dresden, Germany, is drawing near, with authors requested to submit abstracts no later than January 31st, 2023.

The major challenges of the energy transition from fossil to renewable sources, and the change in transportation technology, require new technical solutions in which sustainability is becoming increasingly important. The Powder Metallurgy industry has been facing challenges from this transition – particularly in the automotive sector – but the move also offers numerous opportunities for new products and solutions in new and existing markets. Innovation in the processes, particularly in sinter-based Additive Manufacturing, also contributes to this.

The International Conference on Emerging Applications of PM & AM Materials and Technologies is intended to serve as a platform for the presentation and discussion of the latest material and technology developments for future applications. There will be a clear focus on energy technologies during the three days.

Abstracts will be accepted in the following categories:

  • Materials for power-to-X technologies (e.g., sorption materials, hydrides, electrolysis, PCM and heat storage)
  • Energy harvesting (e.g., thermoelectric, magnetocaloric)
  • Materials for electrical drives (e.g., thermal management materials, magnets, copper)

The conference will take place from July 5-7, 2023 in Dresden and will be held conjunction with MetFoam 2023. To take advantage of the earlybird registration, or to submit a paper, visit here.
