SPEE3D, headquartered in Melbourne, Australia, has continued its expansion plans with new additions to its team.

January 2021 saw the hire of Amy Frost as Marketing Coordinator. Frost majored in Public Relations and Marketing at Charles Darwin University for her degree, and, in past roles, assisted media at major local events and helped to coordinate Red Cross programmes. Her position with SPEE3D will have her coordinating and managing the company’s PR, marketing, and media materials with Marketing Manager Aerin Langworthy.

In December 2020, SPEE3D welcomed Zachariah Thorbjornsen and Dean McPhee as interns.

Thorbjornsen is completing his final semester of Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering (Honours) at Charles Darwin University. At SPEE3D, he’s currently redesigning the substrate holder to further enhance the LightSPEE3D and WarpSPEE3D AM machines’ versatility and efficiency, working closely with the rest of the team.

McPhee, while still in the final year of his Master of Engineering (Mechatronics) degree at the University of Melbourne, is helping SPEE3D facilitate migration to a new Product Data Management (PDM) system to manage and store engineering documentation. Having participated in numerous mechanical design tasks with SPEE3D, McPhee hopes his involvement will mean lasting improvements to SPEE3D’s systems.
