AM Solutions UK, Newcastle Upon Tyne, UK, has announced that SOLIDPRINT3D, Stareton, Warwickshire, UK, will distribute its M1 Basic machine in the United Kingdom. This is said to mark an important development for AM Solutions as it continues to expand its role as a provider of automated post-processing solutions for the Additive Manufacturing ecosystem.

“We are delighted to have secured a partnership with Solid Print3D, which has a highly respected profile in the AM sector in the United Kingdom,” stated Colin Spellacy, Head of Sales at AM Solutions UK. “AM Solutions is part of the Rösler Group which has been innovating surface finishing and post-processing technologies for over eighty years. With such a pedigree, it is of course vitally important that we partner with companies that reflect our values, and this is indeed the case with Solid Print3D. Initially, Solid Print3D will distribute our M1 Basic post-processing solution, an all-round machine that smooths and polishes single parts and small batches of both plastic and metal AM parts.”

AM Solutions’ M1 Basic is a compact machine, intended for easy integration into practically any manufacturing line. Using the machine, multiple parts can be simultaneously treated in separate processing chambers through the installation of divider plates, and the machine features a software package which allows the storage of post-treatment processing programs intended to reduce the risk of operator errors. The machine enables the achievement of a superior surface finish for workpieces, either metal or polymer, in a cost-effective and repeatable fashion.

“Solid Print3D offers honest, impartial advice and best-in-class digital manufacturing solutions. With world-class support we have become a trusted partner to a rapidly increasing number of UK and Irish engineering businesses. We pride ourselves on listening to and understanding the exact requirements of our customers before we offer any solutions and work to prove the return on investment,” stated Neil Sewell, CEO, Solid Print3D.

“The area of post-processing in the AM ecosystem is of vital importance today, and, as AM continues to prove itself a viable production process, post-processing’s role as an enabling technology will continue to dominate the AM conversation. We are proud to be able to add the AM Solutions M1 Basic machine to our portfolio, and truly recognise its ability to not only enhance the surface of metal and plastic 3D printed parts, but in many instances to improve part performance. It perfectly complements our existing range of post-processing equipment, and allows us to cater for the diverse set of requirements that users of AM have.”

AM Solutions provides a range of automated post-processing technologies developed in an effort to overcome the sometimes slow, costly, and disconnected Additive Manufacturing process chain, and to ensure that Additive Manufacturing presents an efficient and viable alternative to legacy manufacturing technologies. The company promotes customer-focused process development for AM operations and collaborates with customers to ensure the optimal post-processing solution for each application.

Colin Spellacy concluded, “All of us at AM Solutions are determined to focus our expertise on streamlining the AM ecosystem, and we work hard to ensure that bottlenecks such as post-processing are eliminated through the judicious use of sophisticated automated solutions. We feel that our new relationship with Solid Print3D will ensure that more and more companies in search of efficient, cost-effective, automated AM post-processing equipment will see the vital role that our technologies in general — and the M1 Basic in particular — have to play in optimising the use of AM as a production tool.”
