SLM Solutions Group AG, Lübeck, Germany, will exhibit its latest metal Additive Manufacturing solutions at 3D Print 2018 Congress in Lyon, France, June 5–7, 2018. The company is reported to be taking part in the event both as an exhibitor and as a programme planner.

More than 100 speakers, experts and users are expected to attend the congress and a number of companies will report on the latest developments in Additive Manufacturing, as well as their own experiences with AM technology. SLM Solutions will present its solutions across the entire SLM® Selective Laser Melting workflow; including process technology machines, materials and services.

In particular, the company will showcase its SLM 280 2.0, which the company refers to as an ‘all-purpose system’ which handles the complete AM process chain in a closed loop: from data generation and part manufacture to powder recovery and recycling. Measuring 280 x 280 x 365 mm³, the machine is said to have one of the largest build envelopes in its class as well as offering SLM Solutions’ patented multi-beam technology with 700 W lasers.

During the event, SLM Solutions will also offer a workshop led by Ralf Frohwerk, Global Head of Business Development at SLM Solutions, titled ‘3D metal printing with Selective Laser Melting technology is on the way to series production in the automotive industry.’ Based on various examples from actual practice, the SLM team will explain some of the advantages offered by redesigning conventional components for Additive Manufacturing, and how these can be integrated into lean, competitive production processes.
