SLM Solutions Group AG, a provider of metal based Additive Manufacturing technology, has opened a new applications and demonstration centre in Lübeck, Germany.  The new centre will be used for technical training and hands-on demonstrations of the company’s line of Selective Laser Melting systems (SLM®125HL, SLM®280HL and SLM®500HL). The site also allows the production of component parts as a test centre for new applications and technologies introduced to the market.

“Our new demonstration centre for SLM technology is another milestone in the rapid development of our company,” stated Dr Markus Rechlin, CEO of SLM Solutions Group AG. “We are now better positioned to respond to the increasing demands of our customers and to deliver specific sample parts faster.”

With the demand for metal based Additive Manufacturing technology continuing to rise, SLM Solutions invested some $5.3 million in the new centre; which includes all available machines along with manual and automatic powder sieving and material handling systems.

“SLM systems and technology are used today in the automotive, medical, energy and aerospace industries worldwide,” added Stefan Ritt, Head of Global Marketing and Communications. “Our activities are focused in the consulting, training and customer acceptance of sold systems. The new centre supports our approach to develop Additive Manufacturing solutions together with our customers that will meet their most strict requirements and give them a competitive market advantage.”
