Sinter-Based Additive Manufacturing Workshop final programme published
August 19, 2024
The final programme for Fraunhofer IFAM’s 5th Workshop on Sinter-based Additive Manufacturing, scheduled for September 4-5, 2024, is now available. The event, taking place in Bremen, Germany, will provide insight into the latest advancements and industrial implementation of sinter-based AM, including metal Binder Jetting, lithography-based metal AM and Cold Metal Fusion.
A list of international speakers, from industry and R&D, will discuss the challenges and opportunities for serial production using sinter-based Additive Manufacturing technologies. The workshop programme will be supplemented by an expert panel discussion, a tabletop exhibition and component award presentations.
The event programme is as follows:
Day 1 – September 4
Session 1
- Welcome and Introduction – Dr Sebastian Hein, Fraunhofer IFAM
- Market figures and developments in Additive Manufacturing -Matthias Schmidt-Lehr, AMPOWER
- Changing sintering behaviour for a novel depowdering approach in Metal Binder Jetting – Matina Youshin, Volkswagen AG
Component Award Presentation
Session 2
- From innovation to operation – the ADDIMETAL K2 French MBJ machine – Franck Liguori, Mohamad Koubar, ADDIMETAL

Component Awards
To highlight the many advantages of sinter-based AM, participants are invited to submit sinter-based AM parts for the Component Award competition. The top three winners will receive a 10-minute presentation slot, during which they may present their company and its sinter-based AM activities to all attendees. The winners will also be promoted in Fraunhofer IFAM’s social media accounts and mentioned in all news releases related to the 2024 workshop.
