Shenyuan New Materials plans $4.5M EIGA titanium powder expansion
Shenyuan New Materials Technology (Hebi) Co., Ltd., located in Hebi, China, is reported to be expanding its manufacturing operations with an investment of RMB 30 million (approx. $4.5 million) in titanium and titanium alloy powder production. The project has entered the environmental approval process, with a proposed approval notice published by the Hebi Municipal Ecology and Environment Bureau on October 10, 2026.
According to the environmental impact assessment notice, the project will be located in an existing factory building at the Haili Magnesium Alloy Lightweight Equipment Industrial Park in the Hebi Economic and Technological Development Zone.

The proposed facility will use Electrode Induction Melting Gas Atomisation (EIGA) technology to produce metal powders from titanium and titanium alloy electrode rods. The planned equipment includes an EIGA powder production system, air classifier, two-stage cyclone powder collector, rotary vibrating screen and double-cone mixer, together with associated surface treatment, inspection and packaging equipment.
EIGA is a crucible-free powder production process in which metal electrodes are melted using induction heating before the molten material is atomised using high-pressure inert gas. The process is used to produce spherical powders from reactive metals, including titanium alloys, for applications such as Additive Manufacturing.

The environmental assessment outlines measures to control dust generated during sandblasting and shot blasting, including cyclone separation and explosion-proof cartridge filtration. It also addresses wastewater management, equipment noise and solid waste disposal.
The published notice does not specify the facility’s planned annual powder production capacity or a commissioning date.
