August 9, 2017
The Society of Manufacturing Engineers (SME) has appointed Zach Simkin, President of Senvol, New York, USA, as the newest Advisor to its Additive Manufacturing Technical Community. Senvol’s database of industrial Additive Manufacturing (3D Printing) machines and materials is used by major companies such as Autodesk, Dassault Systemes and GE.
“SME is delighted to have Zach join their tenured Additive Manufacturing Advisory Committee,” stated Jeff DeGrange, Chairperson of the Advisory Board. “He brings a wealth of Additive Manufacturing expertise to the industry and we look forward to his positive contributions.”
According to SME, selections for the Advisory Board are driven by a combination of active industry contributions, reputation and personal commitment to expand the use of AM.
In June 2017, Senvol was selected as a ‘Cool Vendor’ by research and advisory company Cool, Inc. Speaking at the time, Simkin explained the company’s aims. “As the Additive Manufacturing industry continues to mature, the importance of providing accurate data increases,” he stated. “Whether material properties, process parameters, or feedstock characteristics data, Senvol is focused on serving this growing need.”
Simkin will now serve as an SME AM Advisor for a three year term.
