Senvol labelled ‘Cool Vendor’ by Gartner, Inc.
June 13, 2017
Senvol, New York, USA, reports that it has been selected as a ‘Cool Vendor’ in Additive Manufacturing by Gartner. To be selected for such distinction, the company stated, the vendor must be considered innovative or transformative for products, services or initiatives.
“Senvol is cool because its embedded knowledge of Additive Manufacturing gives designers and engineers unprecedented choices to design parts that can deliver much more value to customers at lower cost,” stated Marc Halpern, Research VP of Engineering and Design Technologies at Gartner. “Senvol may revolutionise engineering design practices as the knowledge of 3D printable materials in its software and databases accelerates manufacturers’ confidence in industrial 3D printing.”
Gartner’s definition of a Cool Vendor is a company offering a technology or service that is:
- Innovative — enables users to do things they couldn’t do before.
- Impactful — has or will have a business impact, not just technology for its own sake.
- Intriguing — has caught Gartner’s interest during the past six months.
Vendors do not apply to become Cool Vendors, stated Gartner. Instead, nominations come directly from Gartner analysts who are familiar with the topic area or market space and the vendor landscape. To be selected as a Cool Vendor, Gartner analysts must have spoken with multiple customers using the technology to make sure the product works as advertised and verify they are getting value from the solution.
Zach Simkin, Senvol President, commented, “As the Additive Manufacturing industry continues to mature, the importance of providing accurate data increases. Whether material properties, process parameters, or feedstock characteristics data, Senvol is focused on serving this growing need. We’re excited to be named a Cool Vendor and are pleased that Gartner has recognised Senvol’s ongoing contribution to the industry.”
“Vendors are not selected as Cool Vendors simply because they have interesting technology,” reported Jim Hare, Research VP at Gartner. “It is mostly because of the growth and success of their company in using technology differently to solve customer problems resulting in tremendous traction.”
