Schlenk Metallic Pigments GmbH, Roth, Germany, has announced the appointment of Dr Uwe Dreyer as its new president, effective from April 1, 2022. In this role, Dreyer will become Division Manager of the Effect Pigments and Metallic Powders division at the group, replacing Dr Alois Seidl who is stepping down at the end of March.

Founded in 1879, Schlenk is a manufacturer of metal powders, metal pigments and metal foils, including aluminium and copper or copper alloy powders. It has approximately 900 employees globally and has production sites in Europe and the USA, and application technology departments in Germany, the USA, China and Southeast Asia.

Dreyer holds a doctorate in chemistry and has previously worked in the management of various companies in the printing inks & coatings industry. His professional stations led via laboratory and production management to technical management. Most recently, he worked as the sole responsible managing director of two companies of a US group in Baden-Württemberg and Saarland.

It was added that Seidl will also step down from the executive board of Carl Schlenk AG, but will remain closely associated with the company, moving to the supervisory board of the group at the end of this year.

Joachim von Schlenk, CEO, stated, “We stand for long-term partnerships and innovative as well as qualitative products. We will continue to expand this position in the market together with Dr Uwe Dreyer. We would like to expressly thank Dr Alois Seidl for his many years of service and his successful contributions to the development of our company. We wish him much success and all the best, both professionally and personally, and look forward to a new way of working with him.”
