November 30, 2021
The NEO Innovation Award from TechnologieRegion Karlsruhe GmbH has been given to Rosswag Engineering, Pfinztal, Germany. The award, which includes a €20,000 endowment, was given to the company on the basis of its fast qualification process for new metal Additive Manufacturing materials.
Rosswag is said to have leveraged its 110 years of experience in forging into the framework for the development and testing of new materials for functional, optimised metal AM parts. Since its entrance into the AM industry, over forty materials have been atomised into metal powder and qualified for Laser Beam Powder Bed Fusion (PBF-LB) AM technology via the holistic and in-house process chain at Rosswag Engineering.
“When we started metal 3D printing in 2014, only a handful of materials were qualified for the process,” stated Gregor Graf, Head of Engineering at Rosswag. “Our approach is to provide an efficient and cost effective way to lay the groundwork for an accelerated industrialisation of Metal Additive manufacturing by enabling more applications across all industries.”
The Karlsruhe TechnologyRegion is a business and innovation action group consisting of businesses, chambers of commerce and scientific institutions local to the Karlsruhe region in Germany. Its annual NEO Innovation Award is set up to honour disruptive approaches to develop local businesses.
