rapid.tech 3D issues call for papers for peer-reviewed AM Science forum
Messe Erfurt GmbH has issued a call for papers for the AM Science forum at rapid.tech 3D 2026. All submissions will undergo double-blind peer review in accordance with the standardised process used by the journal Progress in Additive Manufacturing (PIAM). Up to 24 selected papers may be published in PIAM or the RTe Journal and will also be included in the congress programme. Alternatively, authors may present their work during the poster session.
Advisory Board Chairman Prof. Dr Christian Seidel from Munich University of Applied Sciences, shared, “For many years, rapid.tech 3D has served as the central German-language platform for exchange between technology providers, researchers and users. In the run-up to and during the planning of the event, the advisory board systematically analyses the current challenges in Additive Manufacturing and curates and solicits specialist contributions from industry. This allows the focus during the event to be on presenting well-founded solutions. Industry examples will be used to illustrate how companies in the manufacturing sector can effectively leverage the advantages of Additive Manufacturing and how challenges have been overcome. We strive to go beyond the obvious!”
“This is an opportunity for participants, system providers and service providers to gain structured knowledge and develop concrete strategies for process optimisation. The accompanying exhibition also offers the opportunity to book stands of various sizes at an attractive cost per lead,” Prof. Dr Seidel continued.
Advisory Board member Dr Stefan Kleszczynski from the University of Duisburg-Essen, who is organising the review process, stated, “rapid.tech 3D also has a long-standing tradition within the academic community.”

This gives visibility to the individual research activities, provides food for thought in terms of application and, at the same time, generates valuable feedback, which is often lacking at purely academic events. In turn, this enables a sustainable and targeted transfer of research results. rapid.tech 3D offers a wide range of spaces and opportunities for this – whether in the plenary session in the lecture theatre, during networking breaks or as part of the evening event,” Dr Kleszczynski added.
Submissions must be made in English via the PIAM portal by October 31, 2025. The review process concludes with the selection of congress papers on January 30, 2026. The conference will be held in Erfurt from May 5–7, 2026, and all presenting authors are expected to attend in person.
