QuesTek Innovations LLC, Evanston, Illinois, USA, recently highlighted its collaboration with Aubert & Duval (A&D) to accelerate alloy development using predictive composition modelling. By simulating material behaviour prior to physical testing, the partners were able to reduce development time, cost, and risk, enabling faster market entry for new products.

The work, presented by A&D at the METAV 2025 conference, is said to demonstrate the use of QuesTek’s ICMD software platform and Materials by Design services in navigating complex material trade offs to deliver high-performance, cost-effective solutions for new markets.

In response to growing demands for stronger, more durable, and more cost-effective materials in markets such as aerospace, defense, and automotive, A&D was able to use QuesTek’s Materials by Design technology to move beyond traditional trial-and-error approaches This collaboration enabled A&D to rapidly explore and optimise new alloy candidates for applications such as aircraft structural components, cutting down on development time, cost, and risk.

“This collaboration with Aubert & Duval demonstrates how our ICMD software platform and Materials by Design approach support faster, more informed alloy optimisation,” said Jason Sebastian, Executive Vice President of QuesTek Innovations. “By enabling rapid evaluation of composition and processing pathways upfront, we help partners minimise costly iterations and accelerate the delivery of not only high-performance, but also less costly materials to market.”
