PRES-X, part of the BEAMIT Group, based in Rubiera, Italy, has joined the ColdMetalFusion Alliance. This decision is said to reflect a tipping point for ColdMetalFusion’s vision to industrialise Additive Manufacturing via the development of shared standards between sintering and Additive Manufacturing.

With a history in classical manufacturing, PRES-X adds tomography, or x-ray analysis, over Hot Isostatic Pressing, (HIP) or heat treatment, to surface finishing processes including DryLyte, chemical etching, grid blasting, and drag finishing with in-house developed custom media. The company is also a distributor of equipment such as the DryLyte dry electropolishing system, and helps customers scale their operations from initial proof of concept to large-scale operations.

“PRES-X is in a unique position as an R&D and process developer on top of many of the world’s cutting-edge technology providers. We understand the huge potential of ColdMetalFusion to finally standardise part surface properties along the process chain both in green part and sintered part stage,” stated Andrea Scanavini, CEO. “This is fully aligned with our vision to make post-processing more efficient, cheaper, and green.”

“Pres-X is already working on ColdMetalFusion projects pushing way beyond the one million parts threshold thanks to the stability and robustness of ColdMetalFusion,” he continued. “We are industrialists by heritage and, as such, share many values such as trust, reliability, and innovation with the other ColdMetalFusion members. This shared culture is one of the reasons why we have decided to join the ColdMetalFusion Alliance.”
