MX3D brings Rowan Gillespie sculpture to life with Additive Manufacturing
August 20, 2024
MX3D, based in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, has shared that it was asked to additively manufacture ‘Later Love’, a sculpture by the Irish artist Rowan Gillespie from Clonlea Studios. The piece will be exhibited alongside other works at Clonlea Studios from 18 August.
With MX3D’s robotic Directed Energy Deposition (DED) technology, it was possible to additively manufacture the bronze body sculptures with full freedom of geometry.
MX3D has previously collaborated with artists Paolo Albertelli and Mariagrazia Abbaldo of Studio C&C, Turin, Italy, on the sculpture ‘The Whale Pass’.
