MPIF releases materials standards for sinter-based metal additively manufactured parts

The Metal Powder Industries Federation (MPIF) has announced the release of MPIF Standard 35-AM Materials Standards for Metal Additive Manufactured Parts – 2025 Edition. This inaugural standard, developed by the Association for Metal Additive Manufacturing (AMAM), is said to be an essential resource for the Additive Manufacturing industry, facilitating the development of new applications and markets.

This new edition includes materials standards for sinter-based AM, including:
- AM-17-4 PH-SINT (as-sintered)
- AM-17-4 PH-SINT (H900, H975, H1025)
- AM-316L-SINT (as-sintered)
- AM-316X-SINT (as-sintered)
Developed by the members of AMAM, this section of MPIF Standard 35 expands upon existing and universally accepted Powder Metallurgy materials standards for Metal Injection Molding, conventional structural PM, PM self-lubricating bearings, and powder forged PF materials.
