The Metal Powder Industries Federation (MPIF), headquartered in Princeton, New Jersey, USA, will hold its biennial Powder Metallurgy Sintering Seminar at DuBois Country Club, DuBois, Pennsylvania, USA, on November 17–18, 2026.

The two-day seminar will bring together industry experts to discuss sintering technologies, equipment developments and production challenges across Powder Metallurgy, Metal Injection Moulding, and metal Additive Manufacturing.

Sinter-based Additive Manufacturing: Beyond the hype, towards industrial success

The programme will cover conventional and high-temperature sintering, improving the mechanical properties of PM components, reducing rework and scrap, and increasing operational efficiency. Sessions will also address furnace technologies, sintering atmospheres, troubleshooting and preventive maintenance.

Dedicated presentations will examine debinding and sintering processes for MIM and sinter-based metal AM components, including the use of simulation to compensate for distortion during the sintering of metal binder jetting parts.

The programme includes:

  • Theory and Practices of Conventional PM and High-Temperature Sintering 1 & 2 – Carl Blais, Laval University, Québec City, Canada
  • Conventional Sintering Furnaces – Raymond Serafini, PMT, MPI
  • Safety, Production, and Role of Sintering Furnace Atmospheres – Raymond Serafini
  • Conventional Sintering of Ferrous Materials – Amber Tims, North American Höganäs Co
  • Using Metallography Techniques to Study Sintering in Ferrous PM Materials 1 & 2 – Thomas F Murphy, FAPMI, Hoeganaes Corporation
  • Sintering Processes for Nonferrous Materials – Wayne Daye, Kymera International
  • Troubleshooting and Preventive Maintenance of PM Sintering – Liang He, Air Products
  • High Temperature Continuous Sintering Furnaces – Jim Neill, CM Furnaces, Inc
  • Sintering of Ceramic Materials – Jim Neill & Scott Robinson
  • Sintering of Stainless Steel – Amber Tims
  • Achieving High Performance through the Use of High Temperature Sintering – Thomas F Murphy
  • Optimizing the Design of Sintering Furnace Belts – Richard D. Riva II, Wire-Mesh Products Inc.
  • Sintering in Metal Injection Molding (MIM) – Mathew Bulger, ATPM Consulting
  • Sintering Refractory Metals – Gary Rozak, Elmet Technologies
  • Fundamentals of Vacuum Sintering – Tim Steber, Solar Atmospheres, Inc.
  • Debinding & Sintering of Metal Additive Manufactured Components – Mathew Bulger
  • Simulation of Metal Binder Jet Parts for Sintering Process Distortion Compensation – Nick Avedissian, Hexagon Manufacturing Intelligence
