Moulding Expo 2017: International trade fair to feature AM exhibitors & training opportunities
March 16, 2017
Moulding Expo 2017 will take place in Stuttgart, Germany, from 30 May-2 June this year. Around 700 exhibitors from 30 countries are expected to attend the trade fair, with metal Additive Manufacturing demonstrations available in all exhibition areas. Opportunities for training in AM will also be presented at the event.
Founded in 2015, Moulding Expo brings together industry experts in the areas of tool, pattern and mould making, injection moulding, die-cast moulding, casting, stamping and forming. On display will be a wide range of components and accessories, machine tools, processing tools, measuring technology and specialist machines, software, systems and services.
Moulding Expo 2017 aims to demonstrate the ways in which new and established processing methods can work together in the field of AM, and invites exhibitors to present specific solutions to some of the challenges posed by 3D technology and Additive Manufacturing. Florian Schmitz, Moulding Expo Project Manager, stated, “The exhibiting companies showcase all conceivable applications, from classic prototyping to the development of close-contour cooling mould inserts through the production of stamping and cutting tools or rapid tooling.”
Pharmaceutical, food and consumer manufacturer Visiotech GmbH (Laupheim, Germany) will use the event to showcase its latest innovations in the areas of prototyping and rapid manufacturing at Moulding Expo 2017. “The core of Moulding Expo is tool construction and mould making,” stated Mike Fischer-Arens, Visiotech President. “Nevertheless we are assuming that, similar to the premiere event in 2015, the automotive industry will be strongly represented among the visitors. This is of course interesting for us, especially when it comes to pattern making and rapid manufacturing.”
Also in attendance will be milling machine manufacturer Berthold Hermle AG (Gosheim, Germany) and rapid prototyping company VMR GmbH & Co. KG (Mönchweiler, Germany). “The contacts in 2015 were excellent, because the trade fair concept is clearly concentrated on tool, pattern and mould making and their peripheral industries and is focused on addressing these topics,” stated Thomas Viebrans, VMR President. “Moulding Expo is ideal for us as a platform with its proximity to tool making and its high-end applications.”
Exhibitors can register via Moulding Expo 2017’s website. The registration deadline has yet to be announced.
