Meld Manufacturing Corporation, located in Christiansburg, Virginia, USA, has won a ‘Coolest Thing Made in Virginia’ award presented by the Virginia Manufacturers Association. The award was in recognition of Meld’s innovative contributions to Virginia’s manufacturing sector and its significant role in enhancing the Commonwealth’s economic strength.
The competition featured 12 industry categories, including shipbuilding, semiconductor components, electric vehicles, and aerospace parts. Meld achieved bronze in the Industrial and Commercial Machinery category with its K2 machine.
The K2 is designed for large-scale metal production and repair, catering to essential industries such as defence, energy, and heavy construction. It features a spacious build area and can produce metal components that possess the same strength and durability as forged materials.
The machine’s ability to operate in an open atmosphere eliminates the need for controlled environments, which is said to enhance both efficiency and cost-effectiveness. The K2’s flexibility to work with various materials also makes it a versatile solution for complex production requirements.
