Materialise celebrates its approaching 30th anniversary with predicated AM trends for 2020

Materialise NV, an Additive Manufacturing solutions company headquartered in Leuven, Belgium, has reported that it will celebrate its 30th anniversary in 2020. As part of this milestone, it has released a video and blog post exploring what it believes the leading Additive Manufacturing trends will be in 2020.

The company states that over the past three decades, it has witnessed Additive Manufacturing grow from a nascent technology that was struggling to create basic shapes to a revolutionary technology, capable of transforming entire industries and challenging traditional manufacturing processes. 

According to Materialise, it has identified the following five themes and trends which the company believes will drive and define the AM industry in 2020:

  • Making AM more sustainable
  • Uncertainty becomes opportunity
  • Laying the foundations for AI in AM
  • A new climate of innovation 
  • Investing in automated post processing
