HBD promotes metal AM as a career to over 120 college teachers and students

Chinese metal Additive Manufacturing company Shanghai Hanbang United 3D Technology Co., Ltd (HBD) welcomed more than 120 teachers and students from the School of Materials, Shanghai University of Engineering Science, on July 13, 2021, to promote metal Additive Manufacturing as a career to a new generation, currently in higher education.

Mon Mao, General Manager of HBD, gave a welcome address to the visitors in which she commented on the current status of the metal Additive Manufacturing industry, market applications, industrial development and the advantages of HBD enterprises. Mao explained that the company needs a large amount of young professional talent to join the team as it continues its rapid development.

Professor Zhang, of Shanghai University of Engineering and Technology, expressed his hope that students would leave with more in-depth knowledge of materials, technology, design and other fields, through practical activities which enabled them to combine theory with practice.

Later, during a visit to the HBD Shanghai Metal Additive Manufacturing Center, HBD’s AM experts explained the key technical links between metal AM equipment, process flow and post-processing in more detail, and answered questions raised by the students. In addition, HBD engineers shared the principles of Laser Beam Powder Bed Fusion (PBF-LB) and the operation of these machines.

HBD stated that it aims to encourage in-depth cooperation with major universities, personnel training, scientific research and more. The company is committed to providing corporate resources to support the development of highly-skilled Additive Manufacturing talent.
