GKN Sinter Metals to launch InstAMeta platform for Additive Manufacturing

GKN Sinter Metals, Germany, has announced beta testing of its new InstAMetal e-commerce platform for Additive Manufacturing. Developed in conjunction with 3YOURMIND, Berlin, Germany, the InstAMetal interface will allow GKN to quote and accept orders 24 hours a day, seven days a week and ensure that models are optimised for Additive Manufacturing.

Described by GKN as an “intuitive quoting and design experience for Metal AM”, InstAMetal is expected to introduce a number of tools to aid customers with feasibility analyses of parts to be produced. The digital management tools also guarantee higher machine-uptime and ensure accurate production and streamlined workflows.

“For businesses to stay competitive as they move towards small-batch and just-in-time production, they will need to ensure that high-quality components are prepared correctly – every time,” stated Aleksander Ciszek, CEO of 3YOURMIND. “By adding 3YOURMIND’s eCommerce platform to GKN’s industrial production, we are making huge strides towards companies utilising the potential of Industry 4.0.”

The system will be available for viewing at RAPID + TCT in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA, May 8-11, 2017. GKN Sinter Metals will share an exhibition space with sister company GKN Aerospace at the show, and visitors can discuss the new InstAMetal platform with representatives at Booth #1837. Prospective users can also apply to beta test the platform via the InstAMetal website.
