GKN Sinter Metals introduces educational Additive Manufacturing blog series
August 4, 2017
GKN Sinter Metals has launched an ‘Educational AM’ series on its Sinter Metals Blog. In a number of planned posts, the series will discuss the aspects and advantages of Additive Manufacturing (3D Printing) for newcomers to the technology.
The first post in the series introduces key application areas for metal Additive Manufacturing: rapid prototyping for research and development, tooling and mould making, and tool-free manufacturing from CAD data.
In the post, author Markus Josten, Sales Director at GKN, introduces the strengths and benefits of AM for these applications and offers examples of the key industries in which it is used.
GKN Sinter Metals has previously used the Sinter Metals Blog to educate new users on Additive Manufacturing topics with posts such as ‘Break it down: What is Binder Jetting?’ and ‘The Advantages of Selective Laser Melting’, introducing the processes, benefits and costs of key AM technologies.
