Fraunhofer Research Institute for Casting, Composite and Processing Technology (IGCV), Augsburg, Germany, has announced the inaugural Symposium on Multi-Material Powder Bed Fusion. The event will take place on September 4, 2025, in Augsburg.

Chanel: When manufacturing process becomes part of luxury value

The event was developed on the basis of Fraunhofer IGCV’s eleven years of research and development work on the multi-material processing of metals using Laser Beam Powder Bed Fusion (PBF-LB). With industry adoption growing and machines and components now commercially available, Fraunhofer IGCV has launched the symposium as a dedicated platform for industry and research focused on PBF-LB Additive Manufacturing.

The Symposium on Multi-Material Powder Bed Fusion will feature presentations on the latest findings, challenges and achievements in multi-material processing from both industry and research. The symposium will also offer space for networking, including a pre-event barbecue reception on Fraunhofer IGCV’s rooftop.
