Additive Manufacturing systems supplier Farsoon Technologies, headquartered in Hunan, China, has established a new subsidiary in North America. Located in Round Rock, a suburb of Austin, Texas, USA, Farsoon Americas’ Sales and Support Office has begun direct sales, training, integration and support operations.  The company plans further US expansion in the near future, including the introduction of manufacturing, R&D and advanced solution centres.

Efforts to establish a North American subsidiary began in April 2017, Farsoon states, with the hiring of a team of ‘industry veterans’ with experience in Additive Manufacturing. A number of new appointments have been made to the North American subsidiary, including Chuck Kennedy, Vice President of Operations, Daniel Delgado, Director of Customer Support, and Phillip Conner, Director of Advanced MFG Solutions, each of whom previously worked with Dr Xu Xiaoshu, founder of Farsoon Technologies, at DTM Corporation (now 3D Systems) in the 1990s.

Farsoon Americas expects to open its Round Rock site officially in early 2018. At present, a Demo Center is operational at the site, having launched in October 2017. Speaking on the establishment of the subsidiary, Kennedy stated, “While this has been an eye-opening and sometimes painful process because of the tremendous growth in a vibrant city like Austin, we are pleased with the progress to get operational in a relatively short period of time. Knowing Phillip and Daniel for over twenty-five years really helped in all of us coming together with the rest of the team to get this project rolling so quickly.”

“Farsoon Technologies will continue to strive to become a global leader in the advanced digital manufacturing field, offering our partners and customers solutions that are innovative and cost-effective to optimise their supply chain management goals,” added Xu. “Central global operations in three key markets, China, North America, and Europe will be key growth strategies for the future of Farsoon.”
