The ExOne Company, North Huntingdon, Pennsylvania, USA, has appointed Brian W Smith, formerly its Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer, as its Senior Vice President. The role of CFO and Treasurer will be taken on by Douglas D Zemba, formerly Chief Accounting Officer and Assistant Treasurer.

On the appointment of Smith and Zemba, S Kent Rockwell, ExOne CEO, stated, “Given the breadth of Brian’s leadership experience, as well as the knowledge he gained of ExOne and our industry from being our CFO and Treasurer for the past four years, we are pleased to promote him to Senior Vice President. In his new Corporate Development role, Brian will provide vital input into strategic decisions to grow and restructure our business. A critical near-term responsibility is for him to lead our resource allocation initiative in accordance with the global cost realignment programme that we recently announced. This restructuring and cost reduction initiative is currently underway.”

Zemba joined ExOne as Director of Finance in January 2013, shortly prior to the company’s initial public offering in February 2013. He was appointed Chief Accounting Officer and Assistant Treasurer in March 2013, a role in which he took responsibility for the company’s global accounting and financial reporting. Prior to joining ExOne, he was a Senior Manager in the Assurance practice of PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP.

“Doug has demonstrated his financial acumen within our organisation in his capacity as Chief Accounting Officer and Assistant Treasurer for over five years,” Rockwell commented. “Brian and Doug are proven contributors to our leadership team and I look forward to continuing to work with both of them in their new roles.”
