The European Powder Metallurgy Association (EPMA) has launched its 2017 Powder Metallurgy Thesis Competition at both Diploma (Masters) and Doctorate (PhD) levels. It was announced that the competition will become an annual event, increasing from the biennial format of previous years.

“Due to the popularity of the competition we have made the decision that, as of 2016, the thesis competition will now be held annually. We hope this will further our promotion of PM and we are looking forward to receiving entries,” stated Kate Blackbourne, EPMA’s Congress Manager.

The competition is open to all applicants who have graduated from a European university and who have had their theses approved during the 2014/2015, 2015/2016 and 2016/2017 academic years. The subject must be classified under the topic Powder Metallurgy.

The prizes, sponsored by Höganäs AB, will be presented at the Opening Plenary session of Euro PM2017 Congress & Exhibition in Milan, Italy on Monday October 2017. Winners will each receive a cheque for €750 in the Diploma Category and €1,000 for the Doctorate category, with the opportunity of having their work published in the journal Powder Metallurgy and FREE registration to the PM2017 Congress & Exhibition.

Thesis submission deadline is 26 April 2017.
