The European Powder Metallurgy Association (EPMA) and EuroAM sectoral group recently held the first in a series of free Powder Metallurgy webinars for 2020, focused on Additive Manufacturing.

This first webinar was attended by 250 registrants.

Speakers included Kenan Boz, EPMA Technical Manager; Claus Aumund-Kopp of Fraunhofer-IFAM, who gave an outline on AM; and Walid Frikha of GranuTools, who explored powder characterisation in Additive Manufacturing.

Following the travel restrictions imposed worldwide in 2020, the decision was taken to augment the EPMA’s existing series of educational seminars and workshops with online events to continue promoting the PM industry, and improving people’s understanding of the technologies and challenges, despite the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

Boz stated, “I believe webinars could be a great tool for the association to improve understanding and interest across all PM strands, and am particularly pleased that our very first event was so popular. I hope that all attendees found the content informative, and will join us for future webinars as well as our seminars being conducted later in 2020”.”

The PM webinar series will continue with the following:

  • Metal Injection Moulding
    August 28, 2020, at 09:00–10:30 CEST
  • Hot Isostatic Pressing
    September, 8, 2020, at 10:30–12:00 CEST
  • Functional Materials
    October, 29, 2020, at 10:30–12:00 CET
  • Press & Sinter
    November, 12, 2020, at 09:00–10:30 CET
  • Hard Materials
    December 15, 2020, at 10:30–12:00 CET

Further information and registration details are available via the EPMA website.
