EOS and 3YOURMIND cooperate to automate Additive Manufacturing part identification

EOS and 3YOURMIND have announced their cooperation on the development of the Additively Manufactured Part Identifier (AMPI), a new tool which scans existing part inventories to determine optimal components for Additive Manufacturing. The new tool is expected to offer companies a profitable transition into Industry 4.0 by allowing them to quickly begin profitable Additive Manufacturing.

According to 3YOURMIND’s research, AM producers are frequently managing part inventories with components numbering in the hundreds of thousands, with 2-4,000 new parts coming online each month. Determining which of these components are suitable for industrial Additive Manufacturing is usually done via manual part analysis or paid third-party inventory reviews, which can be both time-consuming and expensive.

To address this need, 3YOURMIND stated that they have worked together with EOS to digitise the analysis process and deliver an automated analysis of component suitability for industrial AM. Using AMPI, customers can enter basic information about the parts that need to be produced and perform an automated scan of their entire inventory database to determine the optimal components for AM production. The system’s analytic reports leverage over ten years of experience from AM experts to determine exactly which parts are most technologically and economically viable for industrial AM production.

“For several years we have helped our customers to identify the most suitable parts for industrial 3D printing,” stated Fabian Krauß, Business Development Manager at EOS. “We are very pleased to see that thanks to our cooperation with 3YOURMIND an automated software solution now enables a faster part identification than ever before.”

For top 100 companies managing extremely large volumes of new and legacy parts, the AM Part Identifier can also be linked directly to their part database to receive updated reports in real time as additional parts are added or as advances in Additive Manufacturing technologies enable cost-effective production of components and materials. For enterprise and medium-sized companies the AMPI is designed to enable intelligent decision-making on where to begin implementing industrial AM to maximise efficiency.

“The mission of 3YOURMIND is to facilitate the simple implementation of professional Additive Manufacturing for companies of all sizes,” added Stephan Kühr, 3YOURMIND CEO. “The AM Part Identifier ensures that optimal production can begin right away with cost and time savings to ensure that the possibilities of AM become a core part of their business model.”
