DMG Mori, headquartered in Tokyo, Japan, has launched the Lasertec 30 SLM US – a Laser Beam Powder Bed Fusion (PBF-LB) Additive Manufacturing machine developed and manufactured in the USA to address the rising demand seen in the US market.

The Lasertec 30 SLM US, which features a 30 x 30 x 30 cm build envelope, has several key upgrades, including Adaptive Beam Control, which allows for dynamic changes to laser power, laser speed, and laser beam profile. An optional hybrid toolpath strategy is available using a 1.2 kW laser to dynamically switch between laser beam profiles, and non-contact recoating enables more freedom and independence of powder spreading.

The launch of the Lasertec 30 SLM US comes in the fortieth anniversary year of DMG MORI USA, the last decade of which has included Additive Manufacturing. The company’s Lasertec Directed Energy Deposition (DED) hybrid and SLM (PBF-LB) models work within the DMG Mori ecosystem, which extends from metal powder to finish machining. In its Additive Intelligence consulting unit, the company also supports new and experienced users in exploiting the full potential of Additive Manufacturing.

Delivery of the new Lasertec 30 SLM US machines are expected to begin in December.
